What is Kawakawa, and why is it used in skincare?
Kawakawa is a native New Zealand plant with natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and skin-calming properties. We slow-infuse wildcrafted kawakawa leaves for 6–8 weeks to extract their benefits—ideal for eczema-prone, sensitive, or inflamed skin.
Why do you also use Calendula, Chickweed, and Comfrey with Kawakawa?
Calendula supports repair, Chickweed soothes itch, and Comfrey (rich in allantoin) helps cell renewal. Together they boost Kawakawa’s anti-inflammatory and restorative effects across our balms, soaps, and serums.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. We use gentle botanicals (Kawakawa, Calendula, Chickweed) and avoid synthetic fragrance, harsh preservatives, and drying alcohols—great for sensitive or reactive skin.
What makes your Kawakawa products different?
No fillers or shortcuts. Handmade in Aotearoa with wild NZ kawakawa, nutrient-rich oils, and hydrosols (not plain water). Cold infusion preserves more skin-supportive compounds.
What are the most common kawakawa balm uses?
Dry skin, eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, sunburn, and nappy rash. Safe for all ages and non-greasy. Read more about our Kawakawa Balm.
Are your kawakawa products 100% natural?
Yes—whole-plant extracts, herbal infusions, raw oils, and natural waxes. No petrochemicals, silicones, parabens, or synthetic preservatives.
Are your products vegan?
Most are. Some balms use beeswax; we clearly label every ingredient. (We also use candelilla wax in some formulas.)
Can I use kawakawa balm on babies or during pregnancy?
Yes—our essential-oil-free balm is ideal for babies, children, and pregnancy. Patch test first if very sensitive.
How long will my kawakawa product last?
Balms and oil-based products last 6–12 months when stored cool and dry. Small-batch made for freshness.

Handmade in New Zealand. We grow/wild-harvest many herbs, then infuse, blend, and pour each batch with care.
